MEET MOTHERING JUSTICE ACTION FUND
Mothering Justice Action Fund has been dedicated to returning decision-making power to those most impacted, mothers of color.
MISSION & HISTORY.
Mothering Justice Action Fund is a 501(c)(4) organization that activates the collective power of mamas to center the Mama’s Agenda.
Since 2015, our work is primarily focused on social welfare, advancing policies that improve the well-being of mothers, caregivers, and families. In furtherance of this mission, our 501(c)(4) engages in electoral activities, including endorsing or opposing candidates for public office, supporting candidates who align with our policy priorities, and taking positions on legislative actions.
All electoral and legislative activities are conducted by our 501(c)(4), in compliance with federal and state laws governing tax-exempt organizations.
PARTNERSHIPS.
In 2022, MJAF became members of the Defend Black Voters coalition led by Community Change. We participated in several in-person and virtual actions including the October 31st Halloween Rally in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. There, we marched alongside dozens of partners and community members to bring awareness around the DTE rate hike.
In 2023, we are partners with Fund MI Future to guarantee Michiganders are receiving funding towards initiatives that truly benefit our communities.
