MEET MOTHERING JUSTICE ACTION FUND
Mothering Justice Action Fund has been dedicated to returning decision-making power to those most impacted, mothers of color.
MISSION & HISTORY.
Since 2015, Mothering Justice Action Fund has had a goal of placing the political power in the hands of an overlooked voting bloc, mamas. For mothers across Michigan, balancing paid work and caretaking responsibilities is a major contributor to economic instability. Mothers of color, in particular Black mothers, experience this even more acutely as a result of systemic oppression and inequity in access to resources. By empowering these mothers to champion policies and endorse candidates that reflect their values, Mothering Justice Action Fund hopes to shape the future of families in Michigan for the better.
PARTNERSHIPS.
In 2022, MJAF became members of the Defend Black Voters coalition led by Community Change. We participated in several in-person and virtual actions including the October 31st Halloween Rally in Downtown Detroit, Michigan. There, we marched alongside dozens of partners and community members to bring awareness around the DTE rate hike.

In 2023, we are partners with Fund MI Future to guarantee Michiganders are receiving funding towards initiatives that truly benefit our communities.
